The Nativity Crew in Little Rock 2006

Judy arranged everything with the Secretary of States office at the Capitol, the movers were scheduled to bring the nativity to the Capitol, I have lots of folks scheduled to help. I work on Thursday the 16 we drive to Little Rock late Thursday evening, I get a couple of phone calls on the way in - cancellations of folks that had planned to come. Friday morning early I check my email and more cancellations of folks who had planned on helping. I know God will provide the folks I need - oh me of little faith. Judy and I strike out and by 8:00 one person had shown up then another by about 8:20 and then they began to tickle in. I'm missing several folks but I know we have to get started - so we do. 9 folks show up in all (including myself) and they all worked really hard. The fascinating part is even our movers showed up and helped, amazing isn't He - how He provides. Thanks so much for the help you all provided, I truly needed the help. By 5:00 pm not only was the Nativity stable put up, nut the figures were in and the hay spread out. All Judy and I had left to do Saturday the 18 - mix the chemicals and treat the hay and get some more boards for the front entrance. Whew - what relief. The pictures only show 7 folks, John Greer and Barbara left before I could take the pictures. Here they are. Jim Beard, Judy Beard (not in picture), John Greer (not in picture), Barbara (not in picture), Anthony Otwell, Wesley Stevens, Doug Gambrell, John McCarty, John Kersey, Neil Dobbins - Thanks to you all !

Louisvile and family

While on a business trip to Indianapolis - Judy and I got to visit with Josh, Meghan, Jack and Isabel in Louisville, KY. My the grandkids are really growing and they are a Ton of fun. Louisville is really pretty and awfully GREEN compared to Texas right now. Reminds me a bunch of Hillcrest and the Heights. Josh and Meg have a really nice apartment right on the Seminary grounds where he's going to class. Well we had to leave and go back to Texas, but we enjoyed our trip and I had a good business trip as well.

Buzzzzzzz this

Well - for some strange reason the older I get the more I enjoy change. Seems like I've been reverting back to things like when I was much younger. Why just today I decided to get a haircut kinda like one I had when I was 5. Soooo - I talked to my Bride early this Saturday morning and said - I think I'll walk down to the square and get a haircut. Would you still love me if I got a real haircut and had a bunch cut off? Of Course I would. So after I sat in the Barbers chair and told him I wanted a Buzz - he said - did you talk to your wife about this? I said yep, he said okay - here goes. The result - no more hat hair - poof gone.

Well with Sherry here we decided to go on an outing so we all loaded up in Mendys truck and off we went to Fort Worth. Of course some shopping was in order, we even visited an open house in an older area of Fort Worth and it was pretty slick. Off we went to the botanical gardens and they are Awesome. This is a go back to - needs to be a bit cooler but a picnic and a lot of walking are in order!

Dinner at the new Apartment

Well a lot has happened since my last post. Life's been a bit busy for us here in Texas. We've actually moved again - right down the hall from the old apartment. This Loft apartment is much bigger than the old one and we got to clean out almost 2 storage buildings so now we have more of our "stuff" with us.

Here are the ladies in the family making a pizza dinner. First is Judy, then Emiline and Montie - mixing the dough for the Pizza. Emiline is listening intently and learning just about everything she sees and hears.

Next Emiline and her mom - Mendy are making the pizza crust for dinner. Lots of hard work going on here.

Last is a shot of part of the new Loft apartment. We really do love this place. All I have to do now is move all our friends, and teach Texans how to grow trees and make curvy roads - sheesh.

The Cowboy Church

Well now we've been to the Cowboy Church in Waxahachie about 3 times and we've truly enjoyed it. Great country music, Super Sermon and it's really relaxed. The Pastor has a great way of keeping the message real simple and very down to earth and always has a story that every one can relate to, The hats come off for prayer and then right back on afterwards.

Our new granddaughter - Grandkids are great

Judy and I flew to Boston to enjoy the company of our family and see our new Grand Daughter - Isabel Ruth Baylor. She's very well tempered and easy going like her Mom. Of course she's beautiful - I can't wait till she can talk. Jack Caleb has grown a lot since my last visit and he too he awesome. He's really well mannered for someone his age and loves to play. He reminds me of me and a million other little boys - one of the best toys to play with - a box. We truly enjoyed our time with Meghan and Josh and Jack and Isabel, leaving is really hard. Funny how life is - First you're little and you really need your parents, next you're much smarter than they are and they just kind of get in the way, then you get married - have kids - and they are awesome - loads of fun, they grow - the cycle starts over, then they move out - you start life over - then you're ready to have them back and do it all over again. Gosh.

The Nativity Crew in Little Rock - 2005

Well - here is the new blog Site - and this is the crew that helped put up the Nativity set in Little Rock at the State Capitol. It was pretty cold early in the day but warmed up or was that just my body getting warmer as we worked? Well anyway - the crew worked really hard, everyone helped - it's amazing how folks help and support this great Ministry.

Every year I worry will there be enough folks to help put up the Nativity and HE always provides. Just amazing. Even those who can't climb on the roof or life heavy things are extremely helpful. Watching each other and anticipating their needs - a bolt, a nut, a hammer etc it really does help save time and make thing very efficient. Well my hat goes off - Thank you crew -
